A network of cultural organisations
What is DISCO?
DISCO is a network of cultural organisations advocating for the unique importance of independent media to culture, society and democracy.
The DISCO network was designed to move beyond a talking shop and to create a space for radical collaboration. We share common challenges between our regions and are working together to share intelligence, test new ideas and pilot new infrastructure.
Together imagining a new, collaborative ecosystem for the creation and distribution of independent storytelling. A system that is decolonised, that values pluralism and is independent of state or corporate interests. A system that encourages uninhibited creative expression and exploration of ideas. A system that is accessible by all citizens, no matter where or how they live.
The network is growing year on year and there are multiple ways to join in. To find out more email hello@thedisconetwork.com
DISCO members work in over 80 countries across Central and South America, the USA + Europe, Africa, the Arab speaking regions, South and SouthEast Asia. Directly supporting thousands of independent filmmakers, regranting funds, hosting leading festivals and markets in each region as well as providing world class training and mentorship.
